Behind time, catching up

For a cinephile I am certainly behind the currents given my busy schedule. This is hardly a must-see list, but rather, a recently-seen list.

“Elizabethtown”: Charming movie. Falling in the Meet Cute catergory; about personal crisis recovery. The support cast chimes in where it’s needed, hence a movie that is both mellow and busy.

“The Constant’s Gardener”: Very thrilling and somber plotline about the Big Pharmaceuticals and their practices under the quest for profit. The movie’s direction navigates between the past and present, between characters and motives, which are at times leaving the audience second-guessing themselves for arriving at their own conclusions too soon. There is also a lot of exposition about the tribal cultures, between Kenya and Sudan.

“The Interpreter”: Sometimes people are too busy with their own baggage that they don’t engage with others–that is the personal storyline to an intense global politics backdrop involving an assassination at the United Nation assembly.

In stock, I have Matchpoint and Domino. Not sure when to see them yet. When X-3 looms, all plans are off.
